CroydonBites - Gill Manly/Joanna Scanlan/Katie Rose, Shaniqua Benjamin, Anita Wadsworth
Sat 8 Oct 5.00pm / £12/£8 / Matthews Yard
Suitable for 16+
CroydonBites is a new strand for local artists; a triple bill of bite size shows featuring:
Gill Manly, Joanna Scanlan & Katie Rose / The Benefactress
A cautionary tale of female revenge written by Gill Manly. Set in Gothic times when women were but goods and chattel, born to serve their husbands and bear sons. Inspired by the early feminist Mary Wollstonecraft's advice in her tome “A Vindication of the Rights of Women” our heroine and her companion bring comfort to prospective widows. The Benefactress provides…….the key!
Shaniqua Benjamin / Love Warrior
What’s the point of a beating heart if not to feel?
Love Warrior is a one-woman show that asks you to get comfortable sitting in the uncomfortable that comes with love, change and challenging perceptions.
Anita Wadsworth / Ready Steady
This is for anyone who has that thing they need to finish, or that stuff that they really need to do. Fragments of poetry, snatches of song and half remembered dances fit neatly into one sweet Pomodoro of a show. Part performance, part motivational talk, set your timer and remind yourself of that glorious gift called time.
