The TomYumSim show experience is truly unforgettable. From the beginning to the end, you never know what you will be getting, only making it more memorable and undoubtedly funny. Our host, Simone French, with her infectious chaotic energy, and her assistant, Sven Ironside, never left a moment dull for those aboard The Stupendous Resplendent Express – and the AI addition, Tom, only adding to the level of ridiculousness. The “train”, despite it only being a chair arrangement, came to life and embedded us on a journey from Croydon to freezing cold Siberia. With our co-passengers and infuriatingly perky music blasting in our ears through the provided headsets, the chaos drives us into a wreck, with the AI ruining the map on the way. The audience experiences full immersion into The Stupendous Resplendent Express, with an unexpected birth, a short karaoke break, and many more moments for the passengers to participate in. Trainwreck takes our reality of the technological phenomenon of AI and parodies it in a way that displays the dangers of overreliance while making us laugh out loud. The TomYumSim show experience, with its crazy and spontaneous nature, is one everyone should partake in if they want laughs, challenges and an enjoyable experience with new people.
'Trainwreck' took place as part of Croydonites Festival from 28 October - 1 November 2025 at CYTO (Croydon Youth Theatre Organisation).
