Review: Amy Gwilliam / Frankie Foxstone aka The Profit

The world is not ready for Frankie Foxstone!

Put your shame away as you travel with Frankie Foxstone on her planning development tour of Croydon Town Centre! Hilariously irreverent and supremely confident, Gwilliam delivers sharp satire through a quick witted, money hungry property magnate persona. As you travel along Croydon High Street with her, Frankie explains to you her vision for Croydon. Through her own, personal history, she puts perspective on how she sees this blank slate. The piece is meticulously well researched, and, as a Croydon local, Gwilliam has obviously put great care into how to present not only her hometown, but her own character. Frankie insists on interacting with bemused members of the public, allowing you to feel as if you are always in on the joke. This interactive piece might make you feel silly at times — I certainly did! — but Gwilliam’s confidence and willingness to laugh at herself lets you feel completely safe. This walking tour was a riot, and I enjoyed every second of it.
